pressed flowers & slow mornings

found the prettiest little violet on my walk today. i've been pressing flowers between the pages of old books — there's something so romantic about preserving something so fleeting.

my collection is growing! violets, clover, forget-me-nots and a tiny sprig of lavender from the garden.

made chamomile tea and watched the rain. cozy to my core. ☕

night photography adventures

stayed out until 2am with my camera last night. there's a magic to the city when everyone's asleep — neon signs reflected in puddles, the hum of something quiet and alive.

i'm learning about long exposures — the way light trails smear across a frame like a painter's stroke. my hands still shake but i'm getting better.

my favorite shot: a single streetlamp with moths orbiting like tiny planets. 🦋

baking season begins!

the air finally turned crisp so i baked my first loaf of the season. sourdough — my starter (her name is Mildred) is four months old now and absolutely thriving.

the whole flat smelled like warm bread and i cried a little (in a good way).

trying focaccia with rosemary and sea salt next week. bread is basically a love language.

plant parenthood update!

my monstera put out TWO new leaves this week!! i've been talking to her every morning and i think it's working (scientifically proven, probably).

current plant babies: monstera, pothos, string of hearts, a very dramatic fiddle leaf who refuses to forgive me for moving her once in 2022.

ordered some new terracotta pots. cannot be stopped. 🌱

why I started this journal

I want a place to document the little things — the hobbies that make me me. Not for anyone else, just as a soft record of being alive and curious.

This summer I've been into embroidery, cooking, photography, and spending entire afternoons in bookshops.

Here's to filling these pages with everything I love. ✿

embroidery & evenings in

finished my first proper embroidery hoop! it took three weeks and a lot of unpicking, but i made a little cottage with smoke curling from the chimney.

there's something meditative about satin stitch — the needle going in, coming out, the thread catching the light.

next project: a mushroom forest. obviously. 🍄✨

thrift haul & slow fashion

found the most incredible corduroy blazer at the market for €4. burnt orange. it fits perfectly and i've worn it four days in a row.

i've been trying to only buy second-hand clothes and it's made shopping feel like a treasure hunt. every find feels genuinely earned.

also found an old copy of "Anne of Green Gables" with the original illustrations. perfect autumn read. 🍂

learning watercolour

watercolour is humbling. you can't control it and that's the whole point, apparently. the paint bleeds where it wants and sometimes it's beautiful and sometimes it's a brown puddle.

i painted a little vase of sweet peas and it's crooked and imperfect and i love it anyway.

buying more cerulean blue. sky colours make me happy. 💙

café hopping & book dates

spent the whole afternoon at that little café with the green velvet chairs. ordered an iced oat latte and read 90 pages without looking up. bliss.

currently reading: "Piranesi" by Susanna Clarke — the most beautiful and strange book. feels like a dream you don't want to wake from.

solo café dates are one of my favourite self-care rituals. 📚
